The Friends of the Ermatinger House is a nonprofit Organization that is dedicated to supporting the history of one of the top five oldest buildings in Oregon. We work in tandem with the Oregon City Parks and Recreation program to provide educational events and living history programs throughout the year.
The Ermatinger House has the distinction of being in the 3rd oldest house in Oregon, and the oldest in Clackamas County. The house was built in 1843 by Dr. John McLoughlin for his step-granddaughter Catherine and her husband Francis Ermatinger, who was stationed in Oregon City as a representative of the Hudson's Bay Company. Explore the unique architectural features of the Ermatinger House, including its distinctive facade, and functional features. Tours are available Friday and Saturday every week.
Join us for a variety of exciting events and exhibitions that showcase the cultural and historical significance of the Ermatinger House. From lectures to guided tours, there's something for everyone. Connect with us on Facebook for links to upcoming events.
Your donations help us to continue to provide excellent living history demonstrations and contribute to the welfare of the welfare of the house.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
